With a little care and upkeep, it will serve your needs as well as the needs of the person you pass it down to and the person they pass it down to. Do not soak it for long periods of time in water; it will drown. Never put it in the dishwasher; it will cook and deteriorate. W
The piece you are holding in your hands is alive and organic. With a little care and upkeep, it will serve your needs as well as the needs of the person you pass it down to and the person they pass it down to. Do not soak it for long periods of time in water; it will drown. Never put it in the dishwasher; it will cook and deteriorate. Wash with warm/hot soapy water and allow to air dry. Periodically, take a soft cloth and rub with mineral oil, butcher block wax or any food grade safe oil/wax combination. Your piece will not only shine like new, but will be protected for a very long time.

Take care of your leather items, and they'll last a lifetime. Leather can also take a lot of abuse, so if you like the more "aged" look, we can help you achieve that as well. Leather, like our skin needs hydration to look smooth, young and fresh. Just like dehydrated skin, if the leather starts to look cracked or faded (worn down), use a small amount of leather conditioner (like the one we sell in our shop) on a microfiber cloth and massage it in until there is just a light sheen left on the leather, but not greasy. If you want a more aged look, just condition the seams and the edges of the leather piece to allow the body of the item to age.
